The Ventanas Air 650XL is a prime example of an excellent-sized tent for 6 people. It's apart of Vango's AirBeam® Range and Elite Collection, it has the perfect amount of space to accommodate each person and has a convenient Side Pod attached to the middle of the tent for an added storage area. Sentinel Exclusive Fabric is used to create the flysheet and is every part of the word 'Exclusive' - it is extremely durable and waterproof with a Hydrostatic Head of 5000mm HH. The interior is bright and airy thanks to large Diamond Pro Windows with Air Ventilation Panels located under the windows and around the tent for the ultimate breathability, this is continued in the Midnight Bedrooms as they also feature small ventilation panels. Exclusive Fabric makes up the Flysheet which is a highly water-resistant 150D Polyester Material for a shielded interior away from the elements. An integrated front awning with the option for an additional groundsheet protector, (purchased separately) makes for an extended living space with great accessibility to customise the tent to suit your needs. A large Midnight Bedroom is located at the rear of the tent and sleeps 6 people comfortably, on one half of the living area you can also purchase a separate Inner Bedroom to sleep up to 8 people in a 6 person tent. The luxurious fabric used to create the Ventanas' Flysheet is the Sentinel Exclusive material from the Sentinel Range. It's an exceptional Polyester material that tests at more than double the strength of standard flysheet fabric. The fabric is able to provide complete protection against rainfall due to it being 150D material. The material is rated at UPF50+ meaning it can retain its great quality against high-intensity UV light. To add to this protection, Vango's ColourLok™ Technology is woven into the fabric, this is a protective layer that aids colour retention when facing UV Degradation, your tent's fabric could last up to twice as long with this material meaning your Ventanas will have a long-lasting lifespan and won't fail on you anytime soon. Exclusive has a weight of 102g/m² for optimised pack weight and extreme durability. With a Hydrostatic Head of 5000mm HH, there's no chance for your holiday to be ruined by heavy rainfall. the fabric has been Fully Wind and Rain Tested to ensure your product performs to the high standards Vango holds themselves to. All materials are also rated as Fire Retardant Fabrics to meet European Safety Standards. To maintain such high waterproof-ability around your whole tent, a Waterproof PE Groundsheet has been included to keep the surface of your tent completely dry. This sheet is Fully Sewn-In with an external Storm Skirt, this creates an underlap to stop bugs, cold draughts and moisture from seeping into your interior. It's also worth noting that all fabrics apart of the Sentinel Range, as well as this tent's Groundsheet, come with Fully Factory Taped Seams to confirm your Ventanas is completely watertight.
Thanks to the brilliant AirBeam® Inflatable Structure, you can enjoy your pitched tent in merely minutes. The decreased pitching time is but one feature of this technology that makes it such a great component to have designed into your tent. Using your included Double Action Pump, your beams can be inflated via individual AirSpeed® Valves on each main beam. This valve system is created to be locked at all times unless you unlock it manually or by attaching a pump, allowing you to get an accurate PSI with every pitch. To deflate your beams, simply unlock the valve and watch the beams depress just as quickly as they were enlarged. As this tent is larger and heavier due to the sheer amount of 150D Polyester Fabric, SuperBeams™ replace the standard AirBeams® used in other Vango Air Tents. These beams come with increased diameters for enhanced reliability and air capacity. Once set up, you will have a completely rigid structure that is just as strong as traditional poles to house your family for the holidays. The main body of your tent is made up of Beams, however, your Additional Side Pod is expanded using a high Durability Aluminium Pole, this is easily set up and is no extra hassle when pitching. The AirBeam® design for the Ventanas is more than capable of maintaining its shape in adverse conditions, however, as an extra safety feature, Vango has included TBS®II, this is a Tension Band System located at your main beam and involves creating an internal triangular shape with the beam which improves performance against lateral wind gusts and heightened wind speed. To enable this feature within the Vango Ventanas 650XL, simply attach the two adjustable straps to the top of your beam, then tension the straps suitably. It is an unlikely component to have to utilise, but is handy to have if you plan on taking your tent to an unpredictable environment. Of course, if you don't want to use the system you can neatly tuck it away as to not obstruct your access or space inside the tent.
Interior space is important when deciding on which tent to purchase for your family or group, thankfully, the Vango Ventanas 650XL supports up to 8 people with an added Inner Bedroom, however optimally accommodates 6 people, (Note '650XL'). The amount of space per person, (6) is brilliant in this tent, when using the Side Pod you can store furniture or essentials tucked away rather than letting them clog your living area. To reach this great living space you could use one of the many entrances. You can enter via the main door through the integrated front awning, the awning side door or even the main living space side door. These options are great as it opens up so many more possibilities for the layout of your tent. Most of the time you will use the front entrance which has Double Super Zips included allowing smooth transitions between states, for example, you can have the door open 1/3, 2/3 or completely open, or even have it half open from the top to act as a large ventilation source. Large window panels are placed on the door which matches the interior of the tent that features Diamond Pro Windows, which are 67% thicker than Diamond Clear Windows featured in some of Vango's other tents. The awning itself has a large amount of depth so you can place utilities like a cooking station or simply a table and chairs to relax in the outdoors without the worry of rain ruining your furniture because of the overhead canopy.
Once inside, you will notice the fixed mesh door that enters into the main living area, on the other half is a mesh panel spanning almost the whole of the wall to provide excellent airflow through the front of the Vango Ventanas. If you wish to purchase the separate Groundsheet Protector for the tent which includes two parts, one for the main part of the tent and another for the awning - you can create an extended living area and box yourself in by closing the main door and fill the space with your items. You can still easily enter the tent through the other 2 side doors that have clear access with no step over, (With the Groundsheet unclipped at the doorway). If you decide to do this, you can simulate having a much larger tent that comes as standard, that's the great thing about the Ventanas, it's customisable to your needs and offers all the options you need to complete your ideas.
Now that you're inside the tent, you will be able to take advantage of the main features that create a comfortable and functional tent. The previously mentioned PVC Windows are located on the sidewalls and have Privacy Curtains that can be zipped up to your liking, these block out light and vision from the outside of the tent. Below these windows are AirZone Panels that are hidden but still provide great ventilation in conjunction with the bedroom panels as well as the option for the main entrance to be partially open. If you completely cover the windows at night, you will need another source of light inside, that's why the SkyTrack™ II System is available at your discretion. This is a flexible hanging system that allows you to easily attach your lighting solutions or even store items along your beams. To make sure you can power your lights and appliances, Cable Entry Points are discreetly placed around your tent to make sure you have mains access without the need for an open door. This also lets you run cabling through to the awning as there is a zippable slot at the top of the mesh entrance. The amount of space you have in the interior is astronomical, in fact, it even rivals larger tents due to its Villa Construction. The Villa Design involves having the sidewalls in an upright position, creating an arch at the peak of the tent, this lets you have the maximum amount of headroom all the way up to the edges of your roof. You can now utilise the whole of your area rather than having to strategically place items and navigate through your space like in traditional tent shapes. For those who like additional comfort underfoot, we would recommend the optional insulated fleece carpet to create a home-from-home camping experience.
At the rear of the tent is the Extra Long Midnight Bedroom. The with of this bedroom is 420cm and is much longer than normal bedrooms, this confirms the idea of having full-sized double airbed or camp beds in your sleeping area. You get up to 70cm of space per person, combined with the convenient Storage Pockets, this makes for a great sleeping area, you should have no problems fitting 6 campers into this space. The Midnight design establishes a completely darkened inner to prevent early morning sunlight from disturbing your natural sleep cycle. There are mesh ventilation panels in the bedrooms to let you have airflow which helps prevent condensation from ruining your experience, these also act as little light pockets which could be perfect for kids sleeping in the smaller 120cm wide section. But I mentioned 70cm of space per person? Well yes, while this is the maximum space you can have, it's only applicable when the whole room is open as one large 6 person area. Using the inner dividers you can split the room into a 120cm/160cm/140cm setup for varying spaces and privacy between each compartment. The Bedroom also has an extra-wide opening with a flat entry to prevent tripping hazards in the middle of the night.
