Representing the ever more popular Stargrove Range, the Vango Stargrove II 600XL is a desirable 6 person poled tent with a multitude of high-quality features that you can't get anywhere else at such a great price point. Offering a 60cm wide per person Nightfall Bedrooms, extraordinarily spacious living space and an enclosed front canopy, there really isn't much more you could ask for when deciding on which tent to purchase for your family or friends. The Tent itself is over 2m's tall leaving plenty of headroom once inside but also not being too large as to take away from the sleek aesthetics that this Herbal Green Tent is offering. Plenty of support for the stability of the tent is provided as it uses 5 Pre-Angled Poles as well as the TBS®II Tension Band System for extra support during high speeds of wind. The Stargrove is great at providing large amounts of space via its two rooms, enclosed front canopy and side canopy (poles purchased separately) and is more than durable for holiday or weekend usage. For people looking to purchase a capacious tent but are reluctant to over-spend, this tent falls nicely into a great price range and doesn't lack any features from the carefully thought-out design. Ideally, the 600XL is suited to larger families due to its extra room space and bedroom housing when compared to the smaller 450 Tent.
Space is plentiful in the Vango Stargrove II 600 as its extensive general living space is not the only area that offers more than enough room for a group of 6 campers. One large Bedroom can be used as a single sleeping area or can be divided into segments for at least 60cm's of room for each camper using walls which add extra privacy for families or groups of campers that do not wish to sleep in the same room. The Bedrooms themselves use Nightfall Technology developed by Vango to eliminate early morning sunlight, allowing you to rest to your own sleeping pattern without letting the sunrise dictate when you wake. Inside the bedrooms are storage pockets near the corners which can hold your essential items off the ground. One wide opening is the entrance to the bedrooms and doesn't require any step over for easy access, the Queen Sized Bedrooms will not disappoint or disturb you when you decide to unwind from a great day of camping. When you wake up refreshed from a good nights sleep, you will want to enter the Living Space, this area is more than capable of hosting 6 campers as it provides added space for every individual, (note the 'XL' in Stargrove 600XL) with an extended room with added windows. The Diamond Clear Windows are located on the side of the tent which allows the maximum amount of natural light to brighten up your morning, however, if you wish to have more privacy, every window has its own Toggled Privacy Curtain which can completely or partially cover your window, eliminating all light sources from entering your interior.
Perhaps you'd like to relax with your morning coffee in the open air? You can step out to the enclosed front canopy for a completely covered area with enough space for chairs and even a table if you wish. This canopy also has windows on either side with their own curtains and can accept a compatible Footprint (click here to view) to hide the grass floor. The Front Entrance for the Stargrove 600XL has a large door that can be opened to any size you wish with a double zip system. If you wish to have an enclosed area to add to your living space you can close the door and use this area as a storage area for your wet kit or dirty accessories and clothing. After this, you can utilise the side-door that is located on the main room for the tent, this is a roll-away door that has more than its traditional use at its disposal. Providing you purchase separate King Poles (click here to view), the door can be unravelled and used as an open canopy area to increase the ease of access when entering your tent, or just to use as extra cover if you encounter light rainfall.
To support such a large and feature-packed structure, Vango has used 5 PowerFlex® Fibreglass poles in the construction. These come pre-angled to achieve a much greater living space when compared to a standard curved pole - this design is what enables an astonishing 2m's of height and provides effective bracing against adverse wind conditions. The poles are durable yet lightweight making for a sturdy structure, and a portable pack weight. To further add to the reliability of the structure, the TBS®II Tension Band System is used at the rear of the tent on the divide between the bedroom and the living space - this is an adjustable system which can be toggled at your discretion. During intensified wind conditions, TBS®II can be enabled by clipping the Bands into the top of the Vango Stargrove II 600XL, creating a Triangular Bracing Shape to resist gusts of wind in unfortunate weather conditions. Each pole is colour coded to make pitching as easy as possible, the time to pitch is roughly 25 minutes meaning you can fully erect your shelter for the weekend quickly if you're expecting bad weather. Strong high visibility guylines are included making low-light pitching much easier and helps prevent tripping hazards when on the campsite.
Once inside your tent, you would like to know that you are completely safe from the environment outside. With the Vango Stargrove II 600XL, you can rest assured knowing that Sentinel Active Fabric is protecting you from the cold and wet outdoors. This is a light Polyester material and has a Hydrostatic Head of 3000mm HH, creating a great resistance barrier against heavy rainfall. The weight is based at 62g/m² meaning you get a reduced pack weight but enhanced durability due to other features such as full factory taped seams that create a completely watertight seal. Sentinel Active also has a UPF30+ UV Light protection layer to prevent colour degradation of your tents beautiful Green colour. The fabric is also fully Fire Retardant as per ISO5912 Safety Standards. The fabric isn't the only thing that's providing a comforting environment as this tent comes with a fully sewn-in PE waterproof groundsheet to protect your feet and lower surface fo the tent. This robust and hardwearing sheet is not only going to stop water from breaching your living space, but it also has an external storm skirt to give that absolute protection at all times, due to the Groundsheet being sew-in it can also completely remove any chance for bugs or cold draughts to enter your tent.
Some other great features to mention in the Vango Stargrove 600XL would be the smaller but still important details. For example, a convenient Lantern Hanging Point is located at the top of the tent near the TBS®II for lighting during nighttime, or if you wish to use another lighting solution such like the Vango Sunbeam Flexi, you can do this by using the handy velcro stips that follow the pole down the floor of the tent, this is where another neat feature is located - a cable entry point. This allows you to have mains access without the need of a door open at all times, this is a zipped entry with touch fastener tidies. AirZone Ventilation Panels are located at high and low positions to not only give and airy environment but to reduce condensation too which is essential for a clean and long-lasting tent. Another ventilation solution is the mesh flysheet door which not only lets air in but keeps bug out. Finally, every Vango Stargrove comes with an easypack carry bag that has an oversized opening for a fast pack time, it uses 15% more material for 50% more volume.
Overall, the Vango Stargrove II 600XL poled Tent is stunning to look at but is also practical for groups of up to 6 people. The great structural design and additional features add up to an ideal experience for entry-level campers and will not leave anyone disappointed.
