The Soneva Air 450 is at the peak of camping standards from Vango. Its features are of some of the highest quality they offer with the impressive AirBeam® Inflation System, Premium Sentinel Exclusive Fabric and a Midnight Bedroom. The amount of space you get inside is extended when compared to similar 4 person tents, to achieve this they have an Integrated Awning and a Rear Storage Area which is discreetly hidden behind the Bedroom. It's unbelievable how much value for money you get with the Soneva, it really is a flagship tent that doesn't restrict itself at any function. For a family of 4, this premium tent will be able to provide exceptional service for your weekend adventures.
When reviewing the talking points for the Soneva you will be drawn to a few main features, availability of space, the Sentinel Exclusive Fabric, and what we will discuss first... AirBeam® Technology. Each air tent from Vango uses the monumental AirBeam® System which had 12 years of development history and has been providing campers with extreme durability and quality since 2011. Instead of traditional poles, the Soneva opts for 5 identical Inflatable Beams to create a rigid structure. To set up these beams, you must take your Double Action Pump that is included with your purchase, and attach it to an AirSpeed® Valve. Begin to inflate the Beams in a matter of minutes and watch as your shelter for the weekend is erected with ease. To pack the tent away, you can unlock the ultra-secure Valves and watch the air quickly deflate out of the beams. Then you can roll your tent away into the Smart Pack Roller Bag. This bag has reinforced Handles on each end and a detachable sidewall to easily roll the tent away. Once this is done, you can compress the packsize with webbing straps. The Soneva holds so many high-quality materials and features, because of this, SuperBeams® replaces the standard beams in other Vango Air Tents. These have an increased diameter to have a higher capacity of air meaning you can have even stronger supports, this system can withstand extensive wind and rain conditions and such have been tested to exceed European Safety Standards EN5912. Although the Soneva, (along with every other Vango tent) passed these tests with flying colour, an extra safety precaution has been included in the design to increase peace fo mind for campers. TBS®II is a safety feature that involves creating an internal triangular shape for ideal protection from lateral wind. To enable the Tension Band System, take the two straps located on your main beam and connect them to the top of the beam, they should firmly clip-in. Once this is done, tension the straps to suit your weather conditions. This will merge with your Storm Straps outside the tent and will effectively brace the tent against intensified wind speeds. ts an unlikely function to have to utilise as it will only be necessary for storm-like weather, however, it's a nice thing to have if you plan on taking the Soneva to unpredictable environments.
Sentinel Exclusive Fabric is one of the leading materials used for Vango's tents and holds this status by having extremely great ratings and design choices that result in a highly durable and smart-looking Flysheet. The Soneva is a sleek Cloud Grey colour which fits neutrally with any of your other camping equipment, but don't let its seemingly 'dull' colour pallet deceive you. Within the layers of the Flysheet are the fundamentals that make up the outstanding Fabric, for example, it has a ColourLok™ UV Protection Layer to help prevent colour degradation over time due to UV light damage. The protection factor this provides is rated as UPF50+ meaning the colour of your tent won't fade as quickly. The fabric also has a weight of 102G/M² which is optimised for pack weight as it is such a heavy-duty material. Sentinel Exclusive has a Hydrostatic Head of 5000mm HH making it one of the best in the Sentinel Range at resisting large amounts of rainfall. It's 100% stronger than the entry-level Active Fabric and comes with Fully Factory Taped Seams ensuring a watertight seal. Taped Seams are also a key point of the Waterproof PE Groundsheet that protects the surface of your interior. This is a Full Sewn-In Sheet that removes the chance of bugs and cold draughts from disturbing the comfort of your interior by creating an underlap with the sides of the Soneva. This is the External Storm Skirt which is essential if you wish to keep moisture out, its also worth mentioning that at each entry point to the tent, there is Flat-Entry for campers with limited mobility, however, you can toggle the groundsheet up to create a Linked-In 'bathtub' design which completely eliminates the chance for ground-level water from seeping into your tent.
Finally, its time to talk about the vast amount of space you get inside the tent. To gain access, you can use either the Main Awning Door which continues onto the Inner Door, or you can use the Side Door that has an overhead Canopy to prevent water from dripping into your tent. If you choose the front door you will see just how much space you have inside, this is aided by the large Climate Pro Windows that have a three-layer construction and each has toggleable Privacy Curtains. The space in the awning is open on the ground but can be covered up with an optional Groundsheet Protector, (Purchased Here) to extend the main living space even further. Progressing further into the tent will present you with the extra-wide inner Flysheet door which can be fully open for ultra-airflow throughout the tent or can be partially open to segment the two living spaces apart. The main living area is over 3m wide making it ideal for 4 campers and their chairs, accessories etc. You've now reached the Midnight Bedroom which offers up to 70cm of space per person which is plenty considering there are convenient storage pockets on the inner wall of the bedroom for you to store all of your essentials for easy access during the night. The material used for the bedroom is designed to be as dark as possible, this ensures you get a full nights rest without being disturbed by early morning sunlight. At the very rear of the tent is a section with 65cm of depth that is ideal for any type of storage such as cabinets, bikes, clothing and many other storage solutions. It's a neat little area to have that can tuck away items that may otherwise clutter the rest of your tent. Luckily, the main living space of the Soneva has the maximum amount of space towards the edges of the room as the Villa Construction allows for extended headroom towards the sidewalls. All of these features combined will leave the main room as open as possible which makes the tent feel much bigger than it is, this is also helped by the large windows and AirZone Ventilation Panels which create a bright and airy environment. You will notice that along your main beam there is a SkyTrack™ II System that allows you to place flexible lighting solutions, lanterns and storage baskets on your beams that have easy access to electricity via the High and Low Cable Entry Points. These entry points let you have mains access without the need for an open door letting all of the cold air in which is perfect for the unpredictable and cold British Weather.
