The Vango Joro Air 600XL is the enhanced version of the Poled Joro 600XL as it features the brilliant AirBeam® Structure to support the tent. There are many features about the Vango Joro Air 600XL, which could hold the top position of importance, however, two core components stand-out from the rest. Firstly is the phenomenal Sentinel Eco Fabric. This is used to create the flysheet with a hydrostatic head of 3000mm and fully taped seams - meaning it's highly water-resistant. The Fabric is comparable to the likes of Sentinel Active as it has a similar and enhanced feature set except it has a superb back-story to its manufacturing process. The procedure used to develop such a well-performing fabric involves fabricating 261 plastic bottles into small shards that eventually form a usable layer to be woven into the Moroccan Blue flysheet you will use at the campsite. When purchasing the Vango Joro Air 600XL, you're not only gaining a flawless product, but also contributing to the environmentally-beneficial approach to camping that Vango is attempting to spearhead. Further advantages of using Vango's fabric is the inclusion of the renowned ColourLok technology, this helps protect the flysheet from harmful UV rays and keep it looking fresh for many summers to come. To support Sentinel Eco in providing a completely dry interior, a waterproof PE groundsheet has been implemented into the surface layer of the Joro Air 600XL. This is a full sewn-in sheet that increases comfort and protection from the elements. The sheet can operate as a Linked-In 'bathtub' layout as the entrances to the tent can be toggled up or down to either provide flat entry and ease of access to the tent.
Next up within the Vango Joro Air 600XL - the highly renowned AirBeam® Inflation System. The technology itself was in development for 12 years and once it released in 2011 it left campers with a premier choice for their next tent's structure type. It uses multiple inflatable AirBeams to erect the Joro 600XL in minutes with an included Double Action Pump. Once inflated the beams are just as rigid and reliable as traditional poles but come with increased efficiency during the pitching and packing process. The beams themselves are Pre-Angled and the Joro Air 600XL comes with Vango's Villa Construction, which allows for a much better amount of room once inside your tent and removes the annoyance of angling your own poles to create a smaller structure with less headroom. In extreme weather conditions the Beams will stand strong, this is reinforced by the factor of having the Tension Band System located on the main Beam. TBS®II is an outstanding safety precaution that creates an integral triangular structure shape that is ideal when facing heightened lateral wind speeds. To utilise the system, two adjustment straps are located on the sides of the Vango Joro Air 600XL, these connect the peak of your beam, once connected they need to be tensioned according to your current weather conditions. TBS®II is an unlikely feature to have to use during a normal holiday with your family, so you can disable the system and discreetly hide the straps if you wish, however, if the weather takes a turn for the worst you can rest assured knowing you and your family are well protected. The Guylines use a High-Visibility material to make pitching in low light conditions easier and remove the chance of tripping. It's worth mentioning that the materials used and the structure of the Joro 450 have been Fully Wind and Rain Tested to exceed Europeans Safety Standards. All fabrics, (such as the one we will talk about next) have been rated as Fire Retardant in compliance with European Safety Standards.
The interior of the Vango Joro Air 600XL is large enough to support a group of 6, the tent is divided into three main areas: The Integrated Awning, Main Living Space and a large Nightfall Bedroom. To access the Joro 600XL you can use one of two entrances, the wide main entrance or the Side Door. If you opt for the Awning entrance you will be greeted with two large Diamond Clear Windows, which brighten up the whole interior of the tent, once inside you can toggle the door to many positions as they have multiple zips. Using the zips you can create effective ventilation if you wish to have the door closed but still have airflow. Once you move on you will meet the Inner door which has a Mesh Panel and a cover on it, this lets you enable/disable airflow at your discretion, on either side of the door are two smaller PVC Windows and each main window in the Joro 600XL has a Toggleable Privacy Curtain to block out light or vision for strangers. An interesting use of the Joro would be to close off the Integrated Awning and use it as an extended living space with the Groundsheet Protector, (Purchased Separately) you can then use the smaller but still accessible side door that can double up as a Canopy area with King Poles, (Purchased Separately). This makes for an expansive interior and allows campers to customise their shelter to fit their needs. No matter how you set up the tent, towards the rear will always be the luxurious Nightfall Bedrooms. The inners are darkened to help campers get a full nights-sleep through not being disturbed by early morning sunlight. There are Storage Pockets in the bedroom to store your essentials making sure you can access them during the night. You can also enable the Inner Dividers to split the 360cm Bedroom into multiple 120cm rooms, as you can tell, the Joro offers 60cm of width per person. You can choose which dividers are enabled at any time which allows you to alter the number of rooms depending on your family's size. Throughout the tent are AirZone Ventilation Panels which provide excellent airflow and help reduce condensation. These panels can be closed up in the bedroom if you want a warmer interior at the cost of potential moisture build-up.
