The Joro 600XL is a step in a sustainable direction as it offers all of the high-quality features that similar products can except it delivers this premium feature set with an eco-friendly approach. Much like its smaller counter-part the Joro 450, it's Flysheet features the brand new Sentinel Eco Fabric, this is new for the 2022 Season and is part of the fresh line up of Earth Tents from Vango. The Joro is capable of accommodating 6 people and uses lightweight components such as PowerFlex® Fiberglass Poles making it ideal for family's planning a week-long or weekend holiday. No compromises were made in the 600XL's construction as it uses excellent grade materials to produce a sharp-looking Moroccan Blue colour all the while being made from 225 single-use plastic bottles. Considering the other options in the same price bracket, the Joro presents a great balance of style, functionality and an environmentally-friendly design at such a great price point.
The Joro 600XL uses the Earth Collection's brilliant Eco Fabric to offer superb water-resistant capabilities whilst being extremely environmentally-friendly. The Hydrostatic Head of the material is 3000mm HH meaning it can withstand some of the heaviest rainfall. The manufacturing process for the flysheet includes fabricating 225 Plastic Bottles into a usable material to create the Fabric you will use in your Joro. This creates a Flysheet that is just as effective as the likes of Sentinel Active but is recycled. It still has the immense durability than comparable tents have as well as being designed in a beautiful Moroccan Blue Colour, it's not only functional and unique but a head-turner at the campsite. When facing adverse conditions, this water-resistant 70D flysheet will surely protect you against the elements, it's also a lightweight fabric meaning your overall pack weight is decreased for mobility in transport. The whole of the interior of the Joro is watertight, to support this claim, a Waterproof PE Groundsheet is used to protect your floor. It's a Fully Sewn-In Sheet that has an external Storm Skirt for all-round protection and to keep out bugs, cold draughts and moisture. The Integrated Awning Section has an open floor for use as an outdoor space, however, an optional Groundsheet Protector (Purchased Separately) can be linked into the design as an extra layer of protection for your main living space, and as a single layer for your awning; creating an extended indoor living space. It's worth noting that both the Flysheet and Groundsheet have Fully Factory Taped Seams ensuring a watertight seal.
The construction of this tent involves the use of extremely durable and noticeably lightweight Fibreglass PowerFlex® Poles. These come Pre-Angled and are colour coded to make pitching them in any conditions a breeze. In total there are only 5 poles, 4 of which are identical and marked with the colour black, the remaining pole is marked with the colour grey, Once your tent is assembled, (in less than ~25 minutes) you can peg it out with High Visibility Guylines which are robust and bright for easy pitching in the dark. This overall structure is extremely stable, but as an extra safety feature, the TBS®II feature has been included in the tent. Located at your main pole, (between the main living space and the bedroom) the Tension Band System creates an integral triangular shape that braces your pole against intense lateral wind speeds which could potentially save your tent when it would otherwise fail. To enable this feature, take the two adjustable straps and connect them at the top of the pole, then tension them appropriately. This is an unlikely feature to have to use but is better to have than not, especially for campers that plan on taking their tent to unpredictable environments. Positioned with the system is a convenient Lantern Hanging Point to make sure you have great visibility throughout your whole tent.
This tent has a total of 2 rooms and of course the awning area that can be converted into a 3rd room with the optional Groundsheet Protector. The 600XL has been designed to suit a family of 6 with additional space per person to make sure there is more than enough room for each camper. To access your main living space you can use either the main entrance through the awning or through the multi-functional side door. Multi-functional? You ask, this inconspicuous side door can be doubled up to become a canopy entrance with the use of King Poles, (Purchased Separately) making it a covered entrance, further extending the livable area of the Joro. if you wish to have this door closed you refer to the earlier method which is the large clear access Awning door. It has large windows on each side of the door and it can be opened fully or halfway, it can also be detached at the top but remain closed to allow air to ventilate through your tent without the worry of your kids or pets escaping the interior. Once inside the Awning you'll notice how bright the indoor space is due to the large Diamond Clear Windows on either side, these have Privacy Curtains attached to block out vision and light which is replicated for the windows in the main room too. Moving on, you can go through the Flysheet door which features a new mesh design with yet another curtain-like cover to block out the airflow if you need more warmth. On the right and left side of the door are more Mesh segments, with all of the mesh design you start to feel the sheer amount of air and light that floods the tent's interior which you just can't get with any other tent at this price. On the right side of the tent is the side door which is apart of the upright side walls created with Pre-Angled Poles. Because they come angled, you get a more box-like shape which imitates more room than you actually get, other tents that use traditional poles create a more circular shape which means you don get extended headroom towards the edges of the tent. These tents have 'dead-space' that cant be utilised correctly, the Joro's design, on the other hand, provides excellent space in all areas of the main room offering the opportunity to place furniture such as chairs and tables right up against the walls with no issues at all. Combining all of these features and adding on the fact that you have the perfect room for each person due to the 'XL in '600XL', you have a great amount of space on your hands for an enjoyable weekend away. Towards the rear of the tent is the Nightfall Bedroom which has an extra-wide and flat opening to prevent tripping hazards during the night. This room is able to be used as on large 360cm sleeping area or can be segmented to offer additional privacy between groups of 2 campers in each section, The whole of the bedroom has AirZone Panels to ensure you have a comfortable climate during the night without any disturbance from condensation.
